Cedar Point

On Saturday we went to Cedar Point, the Roller Coaster capital of the world. Wow, there are some scary rides!!! It was a lot of fun! The kids had so much fun, they are way braver than they were 2 years ago, thank goodness! Traeden went on some huge roller coasters and other scary rides that really suprised me! He was awesome! Jax went on the roller coasters that he was big enough for, and he was so proud of himself! He was funny, though, on one of the kid roller coasters, instead of the traditional "picture while riding", they actually tape you for the entire ride. So I told Jax as we were riding it to "look like you're having fun for the camera!" When we got off we went to look at our video, he said "Mom, you're not going to like it..." He had the funniest "scared faces" the whole time! It was great! If you have ever seen Jax with his facial expressions, you will know that he is quite cheesy and funny, so this story will make you laugh... anyway, the park is right on Lake Erie, so it was amazing scenery, the pictures are from the Ferris Wheel. Long story short... we had a great time!!!

My Day With Jaxon

Well the other day we had what I call, well, a DAY. Every once in a while Jaxon just likes to remind me why it won't be such a bad thing for him to be in full-day kindergarten. So a few days ago he was sitting on the floor, coloring a birthday card for Uncle Danny, harmless, right? Sure, until I left the room for a minute, only to come back to a nice hot pink patch on out light tan carpet. It wasn't too big, only about the size of a dinner plate. He really did a great job making sure that every strand received the brilliant pink glow. He had a fabulous time scrubbing it. So fabulous, in fact, that as soon as he was done he decided to decorate himself a lovely green color, very flattering. His skin may have felt left out. He was so excited to get to scrub that off too. His scrubbing skills were really improving. I just didn't realize how much he enjoyed the scrubbing until about an hour later when I came in to see his happy, yet bright blue, baby sister and a high chair to match. Well this time I scrubbed the baby, but he still got to scrub the high chair, and then ponder his artistic path in a time out. It turns out that Araleigh is very forgiving, though, and even let him do a little photo shoot with mom's digital camera while mom was out of the room for literally one minute (when will I learn??). Notice how he captured he brilliant blue eyes and adorable pouty lips... When does school start...?????

ahhh...spring!

Well we have finally had some really great weather out here, and we have really enjoyed visiting all the new baby ducks and geese at our pond! They are everywhere! The boys found a duckling that they assumed had been abandoned, so they decided that they needed to take care of it. They caught it and put it in a box and we tried to give it some food and water. After about an hour of scaring the poor thing to death, Dave and I convinced them to let him go be with the other ducks. They let him go and he went right back to his family and is much happier. But the boys were very excited that, at least for an hour, they had their first pet!

Ready or not....

...Here she doesn't come!!! I think it is so funny and adorable when babies are trying to figure out how to crawl, so I had to share these pictures! Araleigh gets to her hands and knees and then looks at me like "help?" She wants to move so bad, she just can't quite figure it out. She can scoot backwards, which is always away from the toys she's trying to reach, so that just makes her mad! It's funny. It won't be much longer now!!

the new car

well Dave is out of town at Michigan for a couple of days so what better way to console myself than go buy a car??! Truth is, we have been looking online for several weeks now, and we spent last weekend in different dealerships (it was a LONG weekend!), so I new exactly what I was looking for and what I wanted to pay. So it turns out a dealerships pricing error is my gain, because I got an awesome deal that ended up being WAY below blue book, I negotiated like a pro, and now I have exactly the car I want and not a penny more than I wanted to pay! It's so nice, I am really excited to not have to cram my kids in one row anymore! Dave is a little suprised, but don't worry, he's going to love it!

Columbus zoo

Well on Tuesday we went to the Columbus zoo for the first time, and it was a lot of fun! It was an awesome zoo, it had rides and an aquarium and it was huge! The kids had such a great time! Araleigh is begining to think animals are fun, and she gets really excited when she sees them, it's so cute! Jax had a great time, he got to ride on the train, so he was happy. I think our favorite exhibit was the Manatees, they are an animal I have never seen before and always been fascinated with. It was really cool to see them! They were enormous! It was a really great time, hopefully we'll make it there again soon!
